- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- A valid driver’s license and approval to drive by the company’s insurance carrier are required.
- EPA certification is required.
- The candidate must be highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to follow through.
- The candidate must possess analytical skills and be able to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- The candidate must work effectively in a team environment.
- The candidate must have customer service skills and a desire to exceed customer expectations.
- The candidate must be able to use a computer tablet and smartphone and read a map or follow GPS.
- The candidate must work outdoors in extreme variations of temperature and weather conditions at least 50% of the time.
- The candidate must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, sit, and reach for extended periods.
- The candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds and push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items with additional manpower or appropriate devices.
- The candidate must occasionally work from heights of 15 feet or higher above ground.
- The candidate must carry a 24-foot extension ladder alone and/or a 40-foot extension ladder with a fellow co-worker on most jobs.
- Applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
- Create a positive customer experience by ensuring all team members are properly trained to complete jobs correctly the first time, with quality, care, and compliance with applicable codes to avoid refunds and recalls.
- Provide accurate True Transparency pricing.
- Mentor and develop technicians to achieve desired performance metrics.
- Perform thorough and accurate HVAC inspections, including the Health and Safety Checklist, and communicate findings to customers in a written option sheet.
- Prepare detailed finding reports with pictures when issues are identified and discuss them with customers.
- Present repair options and associated costs using the options sheet.
- Support technicians and apprentices with troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Complete required service documentation and collect, record, and deliver fees to designated office administration.
- Contact dispatch to disposition recall and warranty jobs and ensure they are recorded correctly.
- Record all materials used or consumed on jobs for job costing and replenishment.
- Facilitate rescheduling customer appointments when a call is not completed.
- Transport materials and tools to job sites and properly account for assigned tools.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure job objectives are met effectively and completely.
- Support the supervisor or manager as a resource who can make decisions on behalf of the company for the technician team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least two years of experience in commercial maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse commercial HVAC service issues is preferred but not required.
