- Experience with lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Lead a team of technicians in maintaining and repairing plastic extrusion machines, computer numerical control routers, robotic assembly cells, and other production equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production to design and implement preventive maintenance schedules that improve machinery uptime.
- Manage execution of scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment in coordination with production leadership.
- Identify spare parts needed to service equipment.
- Develop maintenance best practices for different equipment designs to improve uptime.
- Assign technicians to equipment repairs based on production priorities and technician skills.
- Use root cause analysis techniques to identify sources of equipment failure and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and implement a training plan to distribute equipment-maintenance skills across the team and ensure rapid response to expected failure modes.
- Coach and mentor the team to maintain professionalism and collaborate and communicate effectively with functional teams.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. Headquartered in Aurora, Illinois, Tangent manufactures premium HDPE materials using post-consumer and post-industrial recycled feedstock. The company operates a vertically integrated manufacturing platform with significant recycling capabilities, producing lumber, sheet and structural solutions for various applications. Platinum Equity, which manages approximately $48 billion in assets, plans to leverage its M&A and operational capabilities to support Tangent's growth, including pursuing strategic acquisitions. The firm has completed over 550 acquisitions since its founding in 1995.
Tangent Materials has announced that its Tangent PolySheet CB has become the first NSF Standard 51 Food Equipment Material globally certified to NSF 537 for being PFAS-free. The food-grade cutting-board sheet is formulated without per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly known as "forever chemicals".
