About the job
- At least 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a controller or assistant controller role.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, including inventory and cost accounting.
- A record of cleaning up materially disorganized accounting books.
- Hands-on enterprise resource planning experience, including working directly in the system.
- Ability to start on short notice and work on site five days per week.
- Own month-end and year-end close, including reconciliation and cleanup of legacy issues.
- Own balance sheet integrity, including inventory, accruals, reserves, intercompany accounting, and other balances that have drifted.
- Lead accounting system transitions or enterprise resource planning financial module implementations and data migrations.
- Own internal controls and process documentation.
- Prepare for audits and manage the external audit relationship.
- Manage the accounting team day to day.
- Support the chief financial officer or sponsor with reporting, diligence requests, and quality of earnings work.
- Certified Public Accountant credential.
- Enterprise resource planning conversion or migration leadership experience.
- Private-equity portfolio company reporting experience.
- Audit background.
- Multi-entity or multi-site consolidation experience.
