Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five years of heavy equipment experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and email is required.
  • Ability to perform high-quality repairs efficiently and maintain a clean working environment in the shop.
  • Ability to work independently and use available resources for information when written documentation is not available.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and follow directions.
  • Effective communication with customers and office personnel while representing the company’s professional image.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to write technical reports.
  • Ability to use SIS2.0, ET, parts manuals, and service manuals.
  • Ability to perform in-depth electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain troubleshooting using prescribed tooling, guidelines, and documentation.
  • Ability to walk, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds, and operate or move equipment as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize safe work practices while adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and take full ownership of assigned jobs.
  • Complete service reports, inspection checklists, labor entries, and other required paperwork within department guidelines.
  • Communicate extra time needed to complete tasks to the supervisor.
  • Segment jobs and order parts accordingly.
  • Return unneeded parts immediately after job completion and complete warranty documentation and follow-up forms promptly.
  • Effectively communicate job status to customers and office personnel.
  • Work efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain company-supplied and personal tooling and equipment.
  • Orchestrate special parts arrangements when necessary to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Perform mechanical work relating to the department’s business.
  • Keep current with industry standards and company-provided training.
  • Limit redos and excessive labor to no more than 1% of total labor hours worked and prevent customer or company equipment damage caused by neglect or abuse.
  • Work primarily in a construction equipment shop, with field or jobsite work as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Accredited schooling is a plus.
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software, preferably Microsoft Word.
