About the job

Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • A good driving record.
  • A valid Pennsylvania or New Jersey driver's license.
  • Basic knowledge of the Lehigh Valley and the surrounding area.
  • Ability to meet the specified physical requirements, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, gripping, and handling objects weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Willingness to travel to other sites as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Pick up supplies, mail, and other items and deliver them as needed.
  • Scan packages with barcodes when delivered and download the scans at the end of the shift.
  • Verify the sorting of mail and packages to ensure proper delivery.
  • Pick up specimens at off-site locations and transport them to Network laboratories as directed.
  • Pick up petty cash, money bags, and payroll and deliver them as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from the hospital for various departments.
  • Follow the Lab Specimen Transport Process.
  • Follow the Vehicle Policy and perform daily vehicle maintenance checks, including checking fluids and equipment and cleaning the vehicle.
  • Transport vegetables within the Network using a third-party vehicle.
  • Transport medications within the Network and to other healthcare facilities.
  • Train new staff on routes and procedures.
