Requirements
  • A high school education is required.
  • Five years of catering or retail management experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organization, flexibility, communication, and customer service skills are required, along with the ability to manage a large foodservice operation.
  • Serv-Safe certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist customers with menu planning, ordering, and execution of catering events.
  • Attend and monitor large events.
  • Work with the management team to ensure proper staffing for all catering events.
  • Follow up with customers to obtain feedback for continual improvement.
  • Grow the catering business by expanding menus and services and working with other areas to gain business.
  • Prepare daily and weekly catering task reports for the management team based on ordered catering events.
  • Work with vendors and the purchasing manager to ensure food and supplies are ordered in appropriate quantities to meet established needs.
  • Manage the Food Link and bulk ordering system by setting up new customers on the ordering platform.
  • Manage orders regularly and work with the storeroom team to get orders out on time; ensure a courier is ordered as needed.
  • Reconcile all bulk and Food Link invoices monthly.
  • Inventory and order catering supplies, and maintain the catering department's established budget, including staffing and supply expenses and revenue.
  • Lead weekly catering meetings with management to communicate events and needs.
  • Complete monthly reports for catering, Food Link, and bulk orders, and present them to the retail manager with action plans.
  • Resolve customer service complaints, inventory or cooking problems, and customer issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with the chef and cooks to create menus, order supplies, and ensure timeliness.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and serving staff.
  • Oversee catering operations, including inventory, ordering, budget, equipment, and planning and execution of special events.
  • Work directly with the Food Service Director to increase sales and improve services.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree in hospitality or business management is preferred.
