Responsibilities
  • Maintain day-to-day information technology operations to ensure secure, reliable, efficient, and compliant office systems.
  • Coordinate information technology activities with internal teams, external vendors, and third-party assessors.
  • Maintain and enhance cybersecurity posture by implementing and maintaining controls aligned to NIST 800-171/53, ITAR, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2 compliance standards.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance by keeping the organization audit-ready, managing System Security Plans, and addressing cybersecurity gaps promptly.
  • Administer, expand, and secure U.S. systems, identities, endpoints, and access rights.
  • Enforce least privilege principles, onboard and manage user access, and maintain hardened systems.
  • Monitor security tasks, track deadlines, and deliver compliance objectives.
  • Develop and update information technology policies, processes, and documentation to support company growth.
  • Maintain ongoing security, compliance, and audit readiness for all IT systems.
  • Uphold a strong, defensible security posture for U.S. government work.
  • Ensure all systems and data adhere to federal cybersecurity standards.

Sirona Medical raises $40M Series D as contracted ARR grows 2.7x

Sirona Medical, a cloud-native radiology software company, raised $40 million in Series D funding led by Avidity Partners. 8VC, GreatPoint Ventures, KLT Holdings, and other investors also took part. The company says the round funds its operating plan indefinitely. As of September 30, 2026, revenue grew 2.5x year-over-year and contracted annual recurring revenue (ARR) grew 2.7x. Sirona has contracts to onboard more than 1,000 additional radiologists over the next twelve months. The money will go toward expanding client services, with new offices in Burlington, Vermont, and Cincinnati, Ohio. Sirona also plans to commercialise its AI tool Cortex and launch Sirona Global, an international programme, before the end of 2026.

Harbor emerges from stealth with $10M funding to handle ai-agent risk. October 13, 2026 New company Harbor said it has emerged from stealth to help with the risks of deploying AI agents. San Francisco-based Harbor starts with $10 million in seed funding from Base10 Partners, Abstract and 8VC. Harbor said it helps companies measure and mitigate the operational, security, and regulatory risks of AI agents, insuring them if the agent fails or causes a loss. Harbor works with banks, insurers and other regulated companies in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Historically, when an employee makes a mistake, the company is covered, said Harbor. Professional liability, cyber, and tech E&O policies pay for the damage. But with AI agents, a mistake is repeated - possibly thousands of times - until someone notices. When it comes to AI agents, insurers do not have the claims history to price the risk. So some insurers are excluding AI out of existing policies, Harbor said. Harbor is building the solution and works in two ways: * The first is the risk platform. Harbor finds every AI agent a company runs and builds an inventory of them. It measures the operational, security and regulatory risk of each one, using a risk framework built with research and enterprise partners and mapped to the main AI frameworks and regulations, from NIST AI RMF and SR 26-2 to the EU AI Act. It checks every decision against the company's own rules and blocks the ones that break them before they go through. Every time an agent's model, tools or data change, Harbor measures it again. * The second is insurance. The measurement is what makes the risk insurable. The risk that remains, Harbor insures. Insurance also changes the incentives: when the insurer pays for the loss, it has every reason to make the measurement rigorous and the controls work. "Companies need to understand the risk of their agents, and at the current pace of adoption and development, assessing the risk at a specific point in time seems useless. There is a need for an innovative solution for managing the risk in real time," said Jesús Santos, co-founder of Harbor. Santos is one of four founders who met at Stanford University. Gallatin AI raises $50M to digitise US military logistics

Gallatin AI has raised $50 million in Series A funding, with participation from 8VC and Silent Ventures, CEO Woody Glier told Axios. The California-based startup focuses on digitising and streamlining military logistics and sustainment operations. Unlike many defence technology companies building hardware like drones, Gallatin AI addresses the manual processes that currently dominate military logistics. Much of the logistics data generated today remains paper-based, using clipboards and pens, according to Glier. The company aims to modernise these operations by replacing manual data collection with digital systems.

Latus Bio raises $97M to advance CNS gene therapies for Huntington's and Batten disease

Latus Bio has raised $97 million in Series A financing to advance two gene therapy programmes targeting Huntington's disease and Batten disease. The round, led by 8VC with participation from DCVC Bio and others, closed on 4 May 2026 and extends an initial $54 million tranche from 2024. The Philadelphia company engineers custom AAV capsids designed to deliver therapeutic payloads to the brain more efficiently at lower doses. The technology emerged from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where researchers screened millions of capsid variants in non-human primates. Latus plans an IND submission for its Huntington's programme in Q3 2026. Its lead asset, LTS-101, targets CLN2 disease and received FDA Fast Track designation in December 2025. The company operates facilities in Philadelphia and Boston.
