  • A nursing sciences Diploma of College Studies (DEC) and a valid nursing license are required.
  • Relevant experience in this sector is required.
  • Omega training is required.
  • Training in suicide-risk assessment is required.
  • Familiarity with medical information systems, particularly Epic, is required.
  • The candidate must have interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of patient care.
Responsibilities
  • Provide quality nursing care to patients in a hospital environment.
  • Assess patients’ medical and emotional needs, particularly those with dementia or requiring hospital-based care.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Use the Epic system to document care and track patients’ progress.
  • Communicate effectively with families about patients’ health status and needs.
  • Participate in case management to ensure continuity of care, including home-care and assisted-living contexts.
  • Train and supervise auxiliary staff when applicable.
