Responsibilities
Provide general hematology/oncology care in a community-based practice.
See outpatient clinic patients; the stated average is 18 patients per day in Castro Valley and 18–22 per day in San Jose.
Participate in the shared 1:5 call schedule in Castro Valley.
Round on inpatients at Stanford Tri-Valley Hospital and Eden Medical Center in the Tri-Valley region.
Provide inpatient consultation coverage on a rotating Q9 schedule at Good Samaritan Hospital, O’Connor Hospital, and El Camino Hospital in the South Bay region.
Collaborate with Stanford University School of Medicine faculty, including participating in Tumor Boards and clinical research.

University Medical Partners (UMP), a partner of Stanford Medicine, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Hematologist/Oncologist to join our clinics in Castro Valley and San Jose.
Position Details (Tri-Valley Region - Castro Valley):
Full-time is 36 patient contact hours
Community-based practice; general hematology/oncology
Physician sees an average of 18 patients per day in the outpatient clinic
Fifteen (15) Infusion chairs on-site
Shared Call Schedule – 1:5
Inpatient rounds at Stanford Tri-Valley Hospital, Eden Medical Center
On call for hospitalized UHA patients only; hospitalists on-site at two hospitals
Approximately 1-4 new inpatient consults per call day, on average
Clinic location consists of 6 providers (3 Medical Oncologists, 3 APPs, 6 Nurses)
Robust ancillary support staff
Access to specialists on-site, such as Radiation Oncologists, Gyn/Onc, UroGyn, and others
Clinical Advice Services (CAS) triage for after-hours phone calls, NP/PA support with in-basket work

Position Details (South Bay Region - San Jose):
Seeking full-time general Medical Hematologist/Oncologist
Position is ~60% Hematology, 40% Oncology
Community-based practice model
Cancer Center South Bay offers comprehensive cancer services including medical oncology, breast cancer, hematologic cancer and blood disorders, lung and thoracic, endocrine tumor, GI cancer, radiation oncology, sarcoma, gynecologic cancer, head and neck cancer, and urologic cancer treatment options
Joining nine (9) other Hematology/Oncology physicians in clinic
Ancillary support staff includes team of NPs/PAs, infusion RNs, Pharmacist (on-site), and administrative support
Robust built-in Primary Care referral base
On-site infusion center and lab with advanced imaging
Radiation therapy center and surgery center on-site allows for close multi-disciplinary collaboration
NP/PA-led Bone Marrow biopsies on-site
Clinical Advice Services (CAS) triage for after-hour phone calls, NP/PA support with in-basket work
Physicians see an average of 18-22 patients per day in clinic
Includes Q9 rotating coverage of inpatient consultation services at three (3) local hospitals: Good Samaritan Hospital, O’Connor Hospital, and El Camino (Los Gatos) Hospital
Close collaboration with Stanford University School of Medicine Faculty physicians including participation in Tumor Boards and collaboration on clinical research
