Requirements
  • MD or DO from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Pathology, with certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology favored.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, the public, and private organizations.
Responsibilities
  • Use innovative teaching methods and apply learning sciences in medical education.
  • Deliver lectures and active teaching sessions for assigned courses.
  • Develop curriculum focused on students’ board preparation and overall professional development.
  • Create and provide detailed course syllabi that include topics and learning objectives for each lecture or learning exercise.
  • Prepare exams and quizzes that effectively test students’ mastery of course content.
  • Complete student assessment activities, including evaluating test questions, performing exam and quiz analysis, and submitting grades.
  • Conduct course evaluations, analyze the data, present results, make recommendations for changes, develop modifications, and implement improvements.
  • Provide service to the department and the University by serving on committees.
  • Provide student advising and mentoring, including office hours.
  • Engage in research or scholarly activity and continued professional development.
  • Participate in Admissions activities, Commencement, and White Coat ceremonies.
  • Understand accreditation standards and expectations specific to the department and adhere to policies and procedures to meet or exceed those standards.
  • Conduct research and case studies in an area of interest and potentially publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.
  • Conduct oneself appropriately, professionally, and consistently in accordance with the philosophy and mission of KCU.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience, especially in a medical school.
  • Three to five years of practical experience.
  • Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
