Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required in aircrew scheduling, flying squadron operations, current operations, SARM/HARM support, aviation operations support, or a comparable military aviation scheduling environment.
  • Experience working with scheduling databases, training status inputs, and recurring scheduling reports is required.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, deadline-driven, medium- to high-stress operational environment is required.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with squadron leadership and support offices are required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the training officer, training non-commissioned officer, squadron aviation resource management specialist, Unit Deployment Manager, and Operations Officer to arrange schedules that facilitate operations, qualification, upgrade, test, exercises, and continuation training while meeting currency and progression standards.
  • Build long- and short-range shift schedules covering aircrew, instructor, evaluator, support personnel, and supervisor positions.
  • Coordinate with senior squadron leadership daily and weekly and coordinate with simulator contractors for simulator events as required.
  • Track crewmember leave, temporary duty, scheduled medical appointments, and other scheduling commitments.
  • De-conflict crewmember schedules and coordinate with flight leadership to ensure crew members are available for assigned sortie taskings.
  • Track daily flight, ground, and academic training requirements and accomplishments to facilitate accurate flight scheduling in support of the Operations Officer.
  • Schedule aircrew based on experience to mitigate Operational Risk Management as detailed in AMCI 90-903, Aviation ORM, and follow guidance from Stan/Eval, applicable aircraft manuals, supplements, and the Go-No/Go Process Guide.
  • Report scheduling updates to squadron leadership.
  • Facilitate last-minute schedule changes to ensure full coverage by working with the current mission commander or operations supervisor and the flight responsible for an understaffed shift.
  • Publish and post long- and short-range ground, academic, flying, and simulator training event schedules in computer database systems.
  • Comply with Ops Group and Wing Current Operations and Group Training guidance when building schedules.
  • Perform daily updates to scheduling data to account for changing conditions and training completion rates.
  • Coordinate with Wing Current Operations, Group Training, outside agencies, exercise participants, and higher headquarters for reporting and to facilitate exercise and special event schedules.
  • Attend weekly schedule coordination and de-confliction meetings with Wing Scheduling and Current Operations.
  • Produce Flight Authorizations that have cleared the Group Stan/Eval Go/No-Go process.
  • Update the Load Tracker for the following week's schedule.
  • Produce the weekly Flying Hour Effectiveness Report (A001) according to local policy and procedures.
  • Produce the weekly Flying Hour Program Report (A002) according to local policy and procedures using AFTO 781 and other sources tracking expended hours.
  • Provide the security manager with a weekly list of Defense Information System for Security requirements to generate DISS letters for training missions as required.
  • Coordinate with Aerial Delivery, Training, Loadmaster Scheduler, and Wing Scheduling/Current Operations to ensure appropriate training loads are assigned to each schedule line.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate’s degree is preferred in aviation operations, aviation management, logistics, business, or a related field.
