  • A doctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree from an accredited physical therapy program, or a physical therapy certificate.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent is required upon hire or within 30 days of hire.
  • A current Physical Therapist license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, based on the work location, is required.
  • The Physical Therapist must work within the practice guidelines defined by applicable Pennsylvania or New Jersey law.
  • Successful completion of required affiliations is required.
  • At least one year of experience as a physical therapist in an outpatient setting is required.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • The role requires the ability to sit for up to 90 minutes, stand for 30 to 45 minutes consecutively, manipulate machine dials, and occasionally stoop, bend, squat, crouch, kneel, and reach above shoulder level.
  • The role requires the ability to lift and move patients up to 50 pounds and push or pull patients weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The role requires tactile sensation, normal conversational hearing, and general vision including depth perception and peripheral vision.
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive initial evaluations to identify functional deficits and develop treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability.
  • Provide skilled interventions tailored to patients’ needs and preferences using appropriate techniques, modalities, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with patients to create short- and long-term goals.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and other healthcare providers while ensuring informed consent, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Manage patients through direct or indirect treatment or referral to another provider as appropriate.
  • Establish and update diagnoses, prognoses, and plans of care using available evidence and clinical reasoning.
  • Review and record patient information in medical records, including evaluation findings, treatment plans, treatment responses, and status changes.
  • Educate patients and family members about prognosis and care options.
  • Assist in developing and implementing department programs.
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives, continuing-education activities, and professional-development opportunities.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, outcomes, and satisfaction with services.
  • Share clinical knowledge and new techniques to improve patient care.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants as assigned.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant students and observers as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper release of information.
  • Comply with network and departmental policies concerning employee, patient, and environmental safety and follow reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards of the physical therapy profession and healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care and outcomes, customer or service improvement, operational systems and processes, and safety, as appropriate.
  • Use resources effectively and efficiently in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Comply with network and departmental attendance and dress-code policies.
  • Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment range, knowledge of growth and development, and age-appropriate communication.
  • Attend designated or requested meetings.
  • Accurately bill patient accounts for services rendered.
  • Provide in-service training to physical therapy department staff and others.
  • Participate in quality-improvement data collection and planning.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings as applicable.
  • Clean and order supplies as assigned by the facility director.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including peer record review.
