Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • US Person qualification is required for employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Boeing aircraft or similar VIP and commercial models is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of original equipment manufacturer data platforms, such as My Boeing Fleet, and technical documentation systems is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of power distribution, lighting, cabin management, and related aircraft interior electrical systems is required.
  • Thorough understanding of the certification and electrical design process is required.
  • Ability to create complex layouts and program design studies is required.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently with limited supervision is required.
  • Ability to interface successfully with customers on projects is required.
  • Competent use of computer-aided design and data management systems is required.
  • Ability to understand and derive multiple customer-standard electrical system requirements is required.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations is required.
  • Ability to coach and motivate a team of engineers is required.
  • Experience leading employees or teams in a productive and efficient manner is required.

Responsibilities
  • Create, modify, and review complex electrical designs while maintaining high-quality engineering delivery on schedule and budget.
  • Conduct product research, design, modification, installation, integration, certification, and testing of aircraft interior electrical systems for commercial, VIP, and special mission aircraft.
  • Create a master drawing list of electrical system drawings and documents for project-level supplemental type certification.
  • Define electrical system architecture to meet client and regulatory requirements for program-specific aircraft interiors, including air conditioning and heating, cabin management, in-flight entertainment, in-flight communication, electrical power distribution and conversion, personal power, interior lighting, potable and wastewater systems, smoke and fire detection, and security and camera systems.
  • Design wire diagrams, wire kits, and other technical documents using engineering drafting and program tools.
  • Review completed drawing packages from peers and approve them for release.
  • Assist in developing verification and test procedures to comply with current Federal Aviation Administration design requirements.
  • Support system installation by liaising with the modification facility, identifying root causes, capturing redline updates, resolving design issues, and updating drawings to meet schedule.
  • Interface with clients, internal and external customers, Federal Aviation Administration designees, and vendors throughout projects to ensure designs meet requirements.
  • Participate in project bids to capture engineering and design requirements for bid estimates and firm-price customer quotes.
  • Participate in project scheduling for electrical systems, including major milestones, deliverables, and predecessor and successor identification.
  • Prepare design checklists, templates, and other processes as needed.
  • Serve as the functional focal point for the group on specific projects.
  • Coordinate closely with project engineers to meet project schedules and costs.
  • Mentor and guide engineers on technical designs or processes.
  • Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and full-shift coverage.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
