Automation Engineer
About the job
- At least 1 year of experience with the design, installation, and troubleshooting of programmable logic controllers, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems.
- At least 1 year of experience with human-machine interface and supervisory control and data acquisition systems, preferably Ignition.
- At least 1 year of experience with personal computer hardware and software in industrial environments.
- A bachelor's degree, or an associate's degree with at least 5 years of hands-on controls and automation experience.
- Project management experience.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work some weekends, holidays, and off-shift hours.
- Ability to analyze equipment faults and failures and identify their root causes.
- Ability to implement solutions that resolve equipment faults and failures and prevent recurrence.
- Software development capabilities in programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++.
- Ability to maintain, install, and troubleshoot electrical systems and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
- Manage electrical and automation projects as a member of the plant leadership team.
- Set and maintain electrical and automation standards.
- Troubleshoot and support plant equipment.
- Train other associates in proper and safe electrical and automation practices.
- Learn the plant's manufacturing processes to facilitate process improvement through automation.
- Experience with Ignition for human-machine interface and supervisory control and data acquisition systems.
