Requirements
  • A master's degree is required.
  • One to three years of related experience is required.
  • Experience providing services in at least three of the listed areas is required, including advising students on didactic, clinical, and standardized-testing study strategies; licensure examination preparation in health science fields; work/life integration and time management; clinical, basic science, or higher education experience in medical or health science education; experience with high-achieving learners; experience working with students with disabilities and their didactic and clinical accommodations; and experience working with diverse student learners, including students underrepresented in medicine, international students, and students with English as a second language.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct one-to-one academic student support meetings, workshops, and community-building events.
  • Assess the academic progress of at-risk students and assist them in developing individualized study and remediation plans.
  • Create proactive student-success interventions and analyze student outcome data.
  • Collect relevant programmatic data by monitoring trends in student needs.
  • Assist with the training, development, and organization of Emory University School of Medicine tutors.
  • Facilitate workshops focused on academic-support interventions within or across six academic programs.
  • Collaborate with Counseling and Psychological Services, religious and spiritual life, and community providers to ensure optimal mental health offerings across the School of Medicine.
  • Advocate for issues important to students and the community as a whole.
