Requirements
  • A post-secondary diploma in health or social services from a program that is a minimum of two years in duration.
  • Successful completion of, or enrollment in, a Long-Term Care Residence Administration or Management Program with a minimum of 100 hours of instruction time.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in the health or social services sector.
  • Experience or supervisory capacity in long-term-care residence administration or management, with completion of a program consisting of a minimum of 100 hours of instruction time.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall operation of the long-term-care residence, including resident care, programs, services, environmental coordination, and fiscal performance.
  • Promote the philosophy of Resident-Centered Care and support the implementation and maintenance of programs and services that ensure residents' quality of life.
  • Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors through the development and implementation of departmental procedures and standards.
  • Develop and implement an efficient system of resident admissions and discharges through effective liaison with residents, relatives or responsible persons, physicians, pharmacists, and health-care facilities.
  • Respond to resident or family-member concerns, take appropriate action within decision-making authority, and escalate matters to the Director of Regional Operations when necessary.
