Requirements
  • Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet faculty credentials outlined in ASOM 7.1 for the specific area or areas of instruction.
  • Must qualify for the NSA Grant Cyber Security Workforce Certification standard through an earned master's degree or higher in information assurance or a related field; an earned related degree with documented coursework beyond introductory principles; an earned related degree with documentation in at least two qualifying areas; or an earned bachelor's degree in information assurance or a related field with documentation in at least two qualifying areas.
  • Qualifying documentation may include professional certification, two years of in-field professional employment, documented teaching excellence, research and publication in the field, or relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter vendor or military coursework.
  • The selected candidate will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including a criminal history check, with employment contingent upon the outcome.
  • Must comply with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act requirements, applicable regulatory requirements, professional standards, College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Must know and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, laboratories, and all learning environments.
Responsibilities
  • Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals.
  • Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the NSA Grant Directors and Principal Investigators.
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Use available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Optimize course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required records.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.
