Requirements
- A BTS opticien lunetier, Brevet professionnel d’opticien lunetier, or equivalent qualification is required.
- Discretion is required when handling data.
Responsibilities
- Assist members in choosing and ordering optical equipment.
- Take optical measurements and perform visual examinations to adjust prescriptions when necessary.
- Process members’ prescriptions appropriately.
- Help members choose frames and lenses in accordance with their prescriptions.
- Help members schedule appointments with an ophthalmologist.
- Enter members’ orders into the computer and send special orders to the appropriate suppliers.
- Collect payments and manage cash movements, including cash and card transactions, change, and required payment procedures.
- Transmit appropriate information to social security and social protection organizations when necessary.
- Adjust and fit optical equipment based on prescriptions and measurements.
- Order merchandise and supplies required for the optical center.
- Record receipt of special orders from external suppliers.
- Follow safety instructions and internal procedures, including storage procedures, and maintain clean work areas.
- Store merchandise and supplies.
- Follow production, bookkeeping, merchandising, and storage standards.
- Ensure sufficient stock of lenses and trial products.
- Contribute to the effective operation of the department and warehouse.
- Assist other warehouse services as needed.
- Supervise apprentices and optician assistants.
Desired Qualifications
- Initial experience as an optician is an advantage.
- Specific training may be provided by the company.
- A strong customer-service orientation and rigor are desired.
