Requirements
  • Prior welding experience.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work evening or night shifts.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend common vocabulary.
  • Ability to calculate basic mathematics, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts, and templates.
  • Successful completion of an application, welding knowledge and skill assessments, talent assessment, interview, drug screening, and background screening.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, and the drug panel includes THC.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
  • Ability to commute a reasonable distance to Washington, Missouri.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate metal inert gas welding machines, adjusting the machine and wire feed as required.
  • Weld 16-gauge to 10-gauge mild steel, attach accessories and fittings, and seam-weld parts.
  • Work from layout marks and simple drawings.
  • Use a scale, square, and power tools.
  • Assemble and tack-weld repetitive jobs, finish welds, and tack-weld assemblies, usually in down or vertical positions.
  • Operate a grinder to clean and shape welds.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks of completed work.
  • Support the company's 5S program by maintaining the work area, equipment, and supplies in a neat and organized manner.
  • Notify the supervisor of material shortages and other concerns.
  • Work safely in required personal protective equipment to manufacture high-quality transformer components.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Participation in Future Farmers of America or 4-H welding projects or programs.
  • Completion of a welding trade school or apprenticeship program.
  • Two years of prior manufacturing experience.
