Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years in database administration (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) with strong skills in optimization, security, and access control, including 3+ years managing databases on AWS.
  • Proficient in Python
  • Expert in IaC with Terraform and GitLab, applying an SDLC approach to infrastructure.
  • Advanced experience with replication tools like GoldenGate or Debezium
  • Solid SQL skills and experience in complex query optimization.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Foglight, DataDog, Splunk, and CloudWatch for real-time performance monitoring and issue resolution.
Responsibilities
  • Support and enhance mission-critical database systems to achieve higher levels of performance, availability, backup/recovery, and security.
  • Collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Developers, and Architects to design, implement, and scale database engines that power the BILL suite of applications.
  • Act as the subject matter expert, managing, optimizing, and ensuring the stability of PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and cloud-native databases like DynamoDB.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and MongoDB is desired.
  • Major plus AWS certified Database - Specialty and Terraform certification
