Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and at-risk youth.
  • An understanding of, or readiness to learn, trauma-informed care; understanding of the impacts of adverse childhood experiences on family systems, substance use or addiction, mental health and trauma, cultural identity, gender identity, high-risk behaviors, collateral trauma, and marginalization.
  • Cultural responsiveness.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team.
  • Internet access for remote work.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable, safe transportation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Ability to accommodate the needs of participants and the program delivery schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all Adventure services provided by LUK.
  • Oversee the provision and delivery of strength-based adventure-based and experiential-learning services to young people and families in support of their goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between the program and funding sources, and work with referral sources and the team to address needs across home, school or work as indicated, and community.
  • Work with the Director and Assistant Director to manage program service delivery, budget, staff training and supervision, and other Division Leadership responsibilities.
  • Supervise program staff, including evaluating and disciplining staff.
  • Participate in hiring and firing decisions concerning program staff by making recommendations to the Component Director.
  • Oversee program risk-management protocols, including safety and gear inspections, trip planning, evacuation procedures, and staff-to-client ratios.
  • Develop mechanisms to promote client and community involvement within the program.
  • Participate in budget development and review while balancing program outcomes with fiscal management.
  • Ensure timely and thorough completion and submission of required staff documentation, including billing.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure consistent operation of billing structures and functions.
  • Lead agency staff in developing and implementing program outcomes, promote and participate in quality-assurance activities, and support their success.
  • Market and promote services.
  • Provide crisis management and intervention as appropriate.
  • Participate in the CFSS, BHS, and CES on-call rotation if holding a master's degree in a related field.
