Requirements
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • Previous work demonstrating reliability and a willingness to perform hard physical work is required.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to operate the laundry van are required.
  • The employee must be able to frequently bend, reach, and stoop; stand for long periods; lift 50 pounds; and use their hands and fingers through a full range of motion for folding linens.
  • The employee must have normal hearing and vision and be able to work in extreme temperatures during long shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Keep the laundry, break room, and restrooms clean and neat.
  • Perform all laundry machine operator functions when the operator is unavailable or needs assistance.
  • Sort and weigh laundry.
  • Load and unload commercial washing and drying machines.
  • Fold 500 to 1,000 pieces of linen per day.
  • Operate the commercial laundry pressing machine.
  • Fold and store linens neatly.
  • Sort and treat damaged or stained linen as trained.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by the Director of Engineering.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that prevents injuries to people and damage to property and equipment and complies with applicable safety and health regulations.
  • Maintain the standards set by Seabrook Island Club.
  • Press, fold, and store linens used in the Housekeeping Department and Club facilities.
