DevOps Engineer - AWS
About the job
- Experience providing hands-on support for large-scale, public-facing production environments running on UNIX/Linux virtual platforms.
- Experience with AWS containers.
- Required Bash and/or other scripting experience, including shell, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Python, or Ruby.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to debug DNS, routing, and bandwidth problems in networking and VPN environments.
- Build, monitor, and support AWS- and colocated-infrastructure environments that power client websites.
- Build Linux machines, install software, deploy machines globally, manage them, monitor them, and respond to alerts 24x7x365.
- Experience with Node.js.
- Experience with AWS/EC2 hosting, Elastic Load Balancers, auto-scaling, and certificate management.
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch and AWS APIs.
- Experience with cloud automation tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Experience with high-traffic website hosting solutions, Apache configurations, log analysis, and load balancers.
- Experience with centralized user management schemes.
- Experience with disaster recovery scenarios and periodic testing and validation of recovery strategies.
- Experience creating runbooks and training staff to troubleshoot and handle unexpected problems quickly.
- Experience transitioning production environments from colocated bare metal to the cloud, preferably AWS.
- Experience working in environments with continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring.
- Experience with AWS cost analysis and maximizing cost/performance metrics.
- Experience with Akamai CDN and other CDN providers, including integrating with them and troubleshooting related issues.
- Experience with PCI/DSS and other security-related standards and audit proceedings.
