Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program according to AOTA and ACOTE standards.
Obtain certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
Be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Kentucky.
Work efficiently without sacrificing effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Perform skilled therapeutic services within the Occupational Therapy Assistant's scope of practice.
Administer standardized assessments identifying deficits related to activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, including motor, sensory, cognitive, social, attention, and other performance deficits, and submit findings to a supervisor for interpretation.
Contribute to updating occupational therapy plans of care under supervisor oversight.
Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy treatment and home education programs to make progress with patients.
Contribute to reassessment and re-evaluation of patient progress leading to discharge when all goals are met.
Educate the public about how occupational therapy can help.
Support the whole child through a multidisciplinary team approach.
Provide services in outpatient settings in Owensboro and Henderson, remote telehealth, and/or school-based settings, according to the preferred setting discussed in the interview.

Responsibilities of a Occupational Therapy Assistant

Contribute to updating plans of care for Occupational Therapy as overseen by a supervisor.
Make progress with patients directly and indirectly through occupational therapy treatment with home education programs.
Contribute to reassessment and re-evaluation of progress that leads to discharge for all goals met.
Celebrate patient success such that they are an inspiration for others!
Educate the public on how Occupational Therapy helps, such that the community sees help as available and possible.
Support the whole child with our complimentary multidisciplinary team approach.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Qualifications
