Requirements
  • One to two years of related experience in leading activities for the elderly is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or higher education is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours is required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office, including Windows, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn new applications is required.
  • Ability to drive the community vehicle for resident outings is required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with the hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell is required.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds using proper body mechanics is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and implementing activities that meet residents' needs and interests.
  • Assist with creating resident histories and profiles with resident and family involvement.
  • Set up and clean up daily scheduled activities.
  • Assist with creating a monthly social program calendar and distributing it to community personnel and residents.
  • Keep residents engaged between planned social activities.
  • Drive the community vehicle for resident outings.
  • Participate in and attend all scheduled in-service training.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
