About the Team
The FP&A team plays a pivotal role in helping to shape the financial future and strategic direction of Aurora Solar. We are responsible for owning the company’s budget, driving annual and quarterly planning processes, allocating and deploying the company’s resources efficiently, performing financial analyses, and partnering with teams across the company.
About the Role
We are looking for a driven and strategic Director of FP&A who is passionate about building a world-class FP&A team at an organization making a meaningful difference in the world. They will continue to build out a high-performing team and implement processes and systems that scale with Aurora’s growth and set the company up for future success. This position also oversees the Procurement function, which is a crucial part of the company’s strategy to grow responsibly and efficiently.
Your Impact
Lead the design and execution of the annual budget and ongoing forecasting processes
Play a key role in the long-term strategic planning processes
Review and evolve KPI reporting that provides impactful insights
Continuously improve and assist with Board and Executive reporting
Find opportunities to optimize spend and work to reduce costs and inefficiencies
Monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends, and analyzing the root causes of variances to deliver valuable insight and recommendations
Simplify, streamline, and automate FP&A processes and make full use of forecasting and financial system capabilities that will allow us to continue to scale rapidly and globally
Collaborate with business partners to understand, distill, and communicate ongoing and evolving business trends that will drive management decisions and action
Perform frequent ad hoc projects to support senior management and business decisions
Work with the accounting team on month-end close to derive accurate and timely reporting that helps identify variances from expectations and trends
What You Bring
12+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or a related role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position
Management experience inspiring, developing, and retaining a strong finance team
Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling is essential
In-depth understanding of financial statements and GAAP
Advanced modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets, experience conducting sophisticated quantitative and qualitative financial analysis, and ability to generate data-driven insights
Proficiency with financial systems (Pigment a plus, Anaplan, Adaptive/Workday Planning, Hyperion, Planful, Mosaic, Jirav)
Proven experience in partnering with senior leadership and providing actionable financial insights.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with big-picture strategic understanding
Ability to handle ambiguity and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of SaaS business models and experience in analyzing SaaS metrics
