Requirements
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems.
  • Technical knowledge and exposure to skid and station fabrication and handling processes, including ASME Section V, VIII, and IX, the ASME B31 series, ASTM, API, and AWS D1.1 standards.
  • Nondestructive testing Level II certification in penetrant testing, magnetic particle inspection, radiographic testing, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Ability to interpret visual inspection, dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, and radiography films.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in fabrication, including inspection and review of work against piping isometrics, general arrangements, and bills of quantities/material take-offs.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, datasheets, and quality standards.
  • NACE Painting Inspector certification and ability to verify protective paint and coatings on metal and potentially concrete structures.
  • Knowledge of piping materials, associated structural supports, instrumentation and electrical cabling practices, and welding processes.
  • Working experience in skid project execution and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel to fabricator and supplier locations to monitor and inspect activities against quality assurance plans and inspection and test plans.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Ability to identify and implement areas of improvement.
  • At least 10 years of experience in quality assurance and quality control roles in the oil and gas industry is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is required, although experience may supersede the degree requirement.
Responsibilities
  • Implement quality assurance processes and standards during skid and system development and fabrication.
  • Ensure quality policies and procedures are followed and continuously improve them at suppliers and vendors.
  • Lead internal and external audits for adherence to industry codes, standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct vendor surveillance audits and qualification audits for vendor-list inclusion.
  • Identify potential quality risks in production and fabrication and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive quality assurance documentation.
  • Develop and implement project quality plans and provide monthly status reports to the Project Manager.
  • Monitor project-plan activities to ensure adherence, minimize contract risk, and integrate activities with PMO procedures and processes.
  • Establish control procedures for skid manufacture, procurement, inspection of buy-out equipment, fabrication work, contractual terms, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Examine tender documentation at the proposal stage to clarify and ensure quality assurance requirements are met.
  • Coordinate project quality documents for customer approval.
  • Inspect raw materials, components, and finished products for compliance with quality standards and customer-approved quality assurance plans and inspection and test plans.
  • Conduct destructive and nondestructive tests to identify deviations from specified quality standards.
  • Investigate product defects and nonconformities and work with production teams to resolve them.
  • Monitor fabricator, supplier, and vendor quality and work with them to resolve quality issues.
  • Review and approve supplier quality assurance plans, test certificates, and incoming-item documents.
  • Organize third-party inspection at fabricator and supplier locations and verify third-party inspection report integrity.
  • Prepare customer inspection and release documentation for project packages based on quality assurance and quality control requirements.
  • Coordinate external customer, supplier, and third-party audits and manage corrective actions through successful closure.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders on customer quality complaints and close complaints on time using root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive action.
  • Compile manufacturing data record documents, including inspection reports, test certificates, and other project documents, in line with quality assurance plans and inspection and test plans.
  • Coordinate customer warranty and customer relationship management activities with the PMO execution manager and sales team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Welding Inspector certification through CSWIP or the American Welding Society.
  • Experience in gas transmission and distribution, particularly natural gas metering and regulating stations.
  • Quality assurance and quality control experience in fabrication and construction of skids and stations, power plant balance-of-plant fuel gas modules and skids, boilers, pressure vessels, or refinery equipment manufacturing.
  • Hindi language ability.

Emerson to open Middle East service centre with Qatar's first certified flow calibration lab

Global automation leader Emerson plans to build a new automation solutions service centre in Qatar's Umm Alhoul Free Zone. The 3,500-square-metre facility will house the region's first certified flow calibration lab and expand Emerson's capabilities across the Middle East and Africa. The centre will offer measurement instrumentation solutions, spare parts distribution, customer training facilities, and distributed control system integration services. Opening in phases, control systems and measurement solutions will launch in December 2026, with the calibration lab following in early 2027. The investment aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030's economic diversification goals. The facility adds to Emerson's existing Middle East presence in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, helping regional customers reduce operational disruptions and accelerate project timelines.

Emerson acquires Glue Inc. to boost AI-driven test and measurement capabilities

Emerson has acquired Glue Inc., an innovator in AI-enabled validation and test software. The acquisition strengthens Emerson's Test & Measurement capabilities and accelerates development of NI Nigel AI, the industry's first AI optimised for test and measurement workflows. Glue Studio's technology specialises in AI-centric test generation and planning. The platform will be integrated into Nigel, which is embedded within NI software and trained in test system design, methodologies, and data analysis. This integration will enhance Nigel's ability to connect validation workflows and accelerate the path from design to verified performance. Emerson Electric raises 2026 outlook after Q3 orders surge 7% on semiconductor, power demand

Emerson Electric reported third-quarter fiscal 2026 results exceeding expectations, driven by broad-based order growth and stronger demand in North America and Asia. CEO Lal Karsanbhai said underlying orders rose 7% whilst underlying sales increased 6%. Growth verticals surged 27%, led by semiconductor growth of 53% and power generation up 37%. Adjusted earnings per share rose 13% year-over-year to $1.71, surpassing guidance. Following the performance, Emerson raised its full-year outlook. The company now expects fiscal 2026 underlying sales growth of 3.5%, adjusted earnings per share of approximately $6.55, and free cash flow of roughly $3.6 billion. Third-quarter free cash flow increased 36% to $1.3 billion. The company's backlog reached $8.2 billion, up 7% year-over-year.

Emerson raises 2026 outlook after Q3 sales, margins and cash flow beat expectations

Emerson reported third quarter results for the period ended 30 June 2026, with underlying sales up 6% and net sales rising 7%. The company declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.555 per share, payable on 10 September 2026. Adjusted earnings per share increased 13% in the quarter. Operating cash flow grew 34%, whilst free cash flow rose 36%. Adjusted segment EBITA margin expanded 140 basis points to 28.5%. Underlying orders increased 7%, led by Software & Systems and broad-based growth in North America and Asia. The company raised its full year 2026 guidance, now expecting underlying sales growth of approximately 3.5% and adjusted earnings per share of around $6.55. Emerson plans to return approximately $2.2 billion to shareholders through $1 billion in share repurchases and $1.2 billion in dividends.
