About the job

Requirements
  • A degree in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is required.
  • Strong engineering skills with Python and experience with production systems and data engineering are required.
  • A solid foundation in statistics, probability, and machine learning, including calibration, uncertainty, causal pitfalls, and time series, is required.
  • Experience building backtests and evaluating predictive models using appropriate metrics such as log loss, Brier score, and calibration is required.
  • Familiarity with expected value, position sizing, risk budgeting, correlation, and liquidity constraints is required.
  • Applicants must already have the right to work in one of the listed locations without company sponsorship.
  • Schedule flexibility may be required around major event windows.
Responsibilities
  • Develop probabilistic models to forecast outcomes of real-world events, including elections, macro releases, sports, policy decisions, and industry milestones.
  • Combine time-series, text/news, market, polling/alternative, fundamental, and expert-prior signals into calibrated probability estimates.
  • Build pricing and edge frameworks that include fair value, uncertainty bands, expected value, and model drift or regime diagnostics.
  • Design evaluation methods using proper scoring rules such as log loss and Brier score, calibration curves, and back-tests with realistic costs and constraints.
  • Identify and exploit mispricing across contracts and venues, and design cross-market arbitrage and relative-value strategies where feasible.
  • Build position-sizing and risk frameworks, including Kelly variants, drawdown and risk budgets, scenario stress tests, and liquidity- and impact-aware sizing.
  • Enforce probability coherence for multi-outcome markets through no-arbitrage constraints and normalization, and optimize portfolios across correlated contracts.
  • Build data pipelines and real-time services to ingest, clean, and version market and external data.
  • Implement execution tooling for order management, smart routing where applicable, monitoring, and automated safeguards.
  • Create dashboards and alerts for performance, exposure, model health, and operational integrity.
  • Ensure reproducibility through experiment tracking, a model registry, continuous integration and delivery, and robust testing.
  • Work with trading, risk, and compliance stakeholders to translate research into controlled deployment.
  • Document models, assumptions, failure modes, and operating procedures; participate in incident reviews and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior work in forecasting, sports analytics, political modeling, event-driven trading, or market-making/liquidity modeling.
  • Experience with natural language processing for news, social, or media signals; knowledge graphs or information retrieval for event resolution.
  • Knowledge of prediction market mechanics, including order books versus automated market makers, fee structures, and market manipulation or anti-manipulation signals.
  • Proficiency with SQL; experience with streaming systems such as Kafka, workflow orchestration such as Airflow, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with Bayesian methods, probabilistic programming such as Stan or PyMC, or ensemble methods.
  • Familiarity with rigorous experimentation, including online/offline evaluation, data leakage prevention, and model governance.
