Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or relevant work experience, is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, strategic sourcing, category management, or a related function, with manager-equivalent scope demonstrated through ownership of complex categories, cross-functional leadership, supplier negotiations, financial accountability, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities and quickly prioritize work for maximum impact.
  • Ability to manage the financial aspects of the assigned procurement function, including identifying expense reductions through cost efficiencies.
  • Understanding of contract terms and conditions and proficiency in the Uniform Commercial Code.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, problem-solving, and quality-improvement skills for executing strategies and identifying and optimizing total costs throughout the procurement process.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior operational personnel in shipboard and shoreside environments.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and present information effectively to groups of managers, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage an efficient total cost of ownership model that considers price, freight, holding cost, currency, supply volatility, and other complex variables.
  • Negotiate complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Plan, organize, and control activities related to the assigned procurement function.
  • Manage sourcing, quality control, and supplier management for products in assigned categories, including negotiation of price, freight, payment terms, and delivery terms.
  • Lead cost-savings initiatives in assigned categories and collaborate with brand operations to identify and implement sourcing opportunities for new and existing products.
  • Analyze data and present findings to Supply Chain and Brand Operations leadership.
  • Evaluate and measure new and existing suppliers, maintaining on-time delivery performance, inventory levels, and invoicing policies.
  • Conduct periodic major supplier reviews.
  • Develop a vendor-quotation evaluation system using appropriate negotiation and procurement techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
  • Manage supplier invoicing and statement reconciliation, resolve invoices in dispute, conduct root-cause analysis with suppliers, and establish improvement plans.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices as needed.
  • Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and conformity of items to specifications.
  • Approve purchase orders up to $50,000.
  • Sign invoices up to $50,000.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned by a supervisor or management.

Royal Caribbean completes $1.25B bond offering to refinance debt

Royal Caribbean Group has completed a registered public offering of $1.25 billion in senior unsecured notes due 2034. The notes, which carry a 5.550% interest rate, will mature on 20 January 2034 unless redeemed earlier. The cruise operator plans to use the net proceeds primarily to repay part of its outstanding floating rate term loan facilities. Any remaining funds will go towards repaying or refinancing other existing debt. BNP Paribas Securities Corp., BofA Securities, Inc., and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. served as lead book-running managers for the offering. The notes were sold pursuant to an automatic shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 29 February 2024. Royal Caribbean Group operates 71 ships across three wholly owned brands.
