Job Description:
Develops new laboratory methods for the acquisition and interpretation of magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements of porous rocks, experience in experimental physics or similar field and experience with electronics, machine shop tools, designing and building experiments. Will provide assistance and guidance to several graduate and undergraduate students carrying out laboratory experiments.----
Job Details:
To perform research in the area of nuclear magnetic resonance at the Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
Perform research on nuclear magnetic resonance and novel NMR inversion algorithms.
Perform research on NMR pulse sequencing and data acquisition software.
Perform research on atomic, molecular, and optical physics.
Perform research on NMR measurement interpretations found in spatially heterogeneous rocks.
Ph.D. in Physics received within the last three years.
Programming experience with Fortran, MATLAB and C++.
One year of post-doctoral experience.
PhD in experimental physics or similar field.
Experience with electronics, machine shop tools, designing and building experiments.
Experience in teaching and/or research.
$60,000+ depending on qualifications
Personal protection equipment (furnished).

Flexible between 7am - 6pm

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
