Requirements
  • An earned master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in software development, computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or an appropriate computer-related field.
  • An earned related or out-of-field master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with documented coursework beyond the introductory level in software development, computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or an appropriate computer-related field.
  • An earned related or out-of-field master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in at least two qualifying areas, such as professional certification, in-field employment, teaching excellence, research and publication, or relevant additional coursework.
  • An earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in software development, computer information systems, management information systems, information technology, computer science, or an appropriate computer-related field, with qualifying documentation such as professional certification, information technology employment, research and publication, or relevant additional coursework.
  • For SDEV 120, SDEV 140, or SDEV 153 only, an earned out-of-field bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in at least two qualifying areas, such as professional certification, information technology employment, research and publication, or relevant additional coursework.
  • Ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds of students and employees and in which every individual feels respected and valued.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
  • Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience.
  • Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner while complying with College policies, guidelines, and expectations.
  • Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.
  • Conduct all responsibilities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
