About the job
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record, and be able to operate the transport vehicle in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to operate the transport vehicle lift and general ambulatory support equipment used by passengers, including canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Must be able to maintain and protect confidential information.
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
- Must be able to adapt to change.
- Must be willing to interact with residents and provide customer service.
- Transport residents to and from appointments and complete the related documentation.
- Maintain the transport vehicle through preventative maintenance and report mechanical issues or other concerns that could affect its continued use.
- Perform maintenance tasks assigned by a supervisor during downtime between transportation duties.
- Assist the maintenance team with environmental services, including landscaping, grass cutting, and snow removal, when the transport schedule permits.
- Check in deliveries at the loading dock and distribute them as needed.
- Provide on-call services when assigned.
- Attend required meetings as assigned.
- Use proper body mechanics while performing tasks to ensure safety.
- Operate equipment only after receiving training.
- Maintain effective communication with all individuals and represent the entity positively in the community in alignment with its mission, vision, and values.
- Treat residents, families, and staff with dignity and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- CNA certification is preferred, or the employee may be willing to obtain CNA certification.
