- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 4+ years of directly related experience demonstrating the ability to perform operational leadership responsibilities.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Energy Q Clearance; the candidate may start uncleared.
- Must reside in the Albuquerque area due to on-site work requirements.
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Proven experience in operations management or a similar leadership role managing technical teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Foundational knowledge of software development and programming concepts.
- Foundational knowledge of software architecture and the software development life cycle.

- Lead and supervise a large, distributed operational workforce to achieve performance targets and deliver high-quality services.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for personnel, operational issues, and customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Participate in regular operational meetings with the Customer Representative to review progress, performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Attend customer meetings to provide updates, insights, and recommendations on operations and workforce performance.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable culture across embedded teams.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and retention.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, organizational design, and compensation strategies.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and development planning for staff at all levels.
- Identify skills gaps and implement workforce development and upskilling strategies.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders for highly complex technical roles.
- Develop and refine job descriptions aligned with evolving technical and mission needs.
- Lead and participate in candidate evaluation, including technical vetting and cultural fit assessment.
- Maintain a strong foundational understanding of software development, DevOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automation, and modern architectures.
- Provide informed input on technical workforce needs, role definitions, and organizational capabilities.
- Ensure alignment with software development life cycle practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and modern delivery frameworks.
- Support teams utilizing tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and employee experience.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine operational processes to maximize efficiency and minimize cost.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to track organizational health and performance.
- Ensure compliance with customer site security, safety, and operational policies and procedures.
- Support secure and compliant operations in environments requiring Department of Energy clearance standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to workforce, operations, and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, business leaders, and customer organizations.
- Act as a bridge between embedded staff and centralized leadership to ensure alignment and communication.
- Provide workforce insights, operational updates, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Strengthen long-term partnerships across mission and business areas.
- Proficiency or familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum frameworks and sprint planning tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
- Experience managing large, distributed, or embedded technical teams.
- Familiarity with enterprise or mission-critical systems and environments.
- Demonstrated success in workforce planning, organizational design, and scaling technical teams.

Edgewater Federal Solutions has acquired RedLine Performance Solutions to add high-performance computing and scientific computing expertise to its federal mission technology portfolio. The deal pairs Edgewater's enterprise modernisation work with RedLine's background in building and deploying HPC systems for federal requirements and critical infrastructure. The combined company will support federal customers across enterprise modernisation, cloud, cybersecurity, software engineering, scientific computing and HPC. Edgewater CEO Tom Ferrando described the acquisition as transformational, strengthening the company's ability to help customers as AI, data centre modernisation and HPC converge. RedLine CEO Carolyn Pasti said joining Edgewater provides resources to offer complete solutions built on its track record in HPC and scientific computing. Edgewater is based in Frederick, Maryland, and provides IT services to defence, law enforcement, energy, health and civilian agencies.
Edgewater wins IT managed services contract with Argonne National Laboratory. Edgewater Federal Solutions has won a 5-year contract to be the IT managed service provider for Argonne National Laboratory. Argonne is operated by UChicago Argonne, LLC, for the Energy Department. The 1,500-acre campus employs over 4,500 people, including approximately 1,600 scientists and engineers. Under the contract, Edgewater will deliver comprehensive managed IT services to support Argonne's critical research mission across energy, environment, national security and STEM disciplines, the company said. "We are honored to partner with Argonne National Laboratory in support of its vital research mission," said Rodger Jones, Energy+ president of Edgewater Federal Solutions. "This award expands our footprint across the DOE's national laboratory complex. Our growing presence in this space underscores our commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and mission-focused IT services that enable scientific discovery at the highest level." Edgewater's services include service desk operations, on-site and remote end-user support, integrated IT and audio-visual services, and management of Argonne's ITSM platform to provide a scalable, flexible and resilient hybrid support model.
