Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Lead Pipe Stress Engineer on assigned projects by establishing technical direction, execution strategy, and design philosophy.
  • Perform and oversee complex pipe stress analyses for static and dynamic conditions using AutoPIPE, CAESAR II, and related tools.
  • Lead local stress and fatigue assessments using finite element analysis tools such as NozzlePro for pipe wall stresses at welded attachments, local nozzle stresses, and compliance with code allowables and fatigue requirements.
  • Establish project-specific stress analysis criteria, methodologies, and acceptance limits.
  • Review and approve stress models, calculations, finite element analysis results, and technical reports prepared by the team.
  • Evaluate piping flexibility, restraint strategies, support loads, nozzle loads, and equipment interactions.
  • Perform flexibility analyses for critical piping systems to ensure system integrity and compliance with ASME B31.3 and CSA Z662 codes as applicable.

What believers are saying

  • AirPlant One opened June 11, 2026, validating Vista's engineering on a commercial SAF plant.
  • Twelve's planned series of commercial facilities expands Vista's pipeline beyond one project.
  • Vista says it has over 400 team members, supporting delivery capacity for larger programs.

What critics are saying

  • Twelve's AirPlant One started at only 50,000 gallons yearly, limiting near-term engineering fees.
  • Vista remains exposed to capital-spending cycles in energy-transition projects and customer delays.
  • A failed execution on complex first-of-kind plants would damage reputation and contract wins quickly.

What makes Vista Projects unique

  • Vista Projects delivered Twelve's AirPlant One FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction support.
  • Vista's integrated engineering model spans Calgary, Houston, and Muscat offices across full project lifecycles.
  • Scott Mussbacher's 2023 CEO appointment preserved continuity after Alex Campbell's chairman transition.
