- A bachelor's degree in a medical field or the pharmaceutical-related industry is required.
- At least one year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant is required.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills at least at C1 level are required.
- A solid understanding of medical terminology and practices is required.
- Proficiency with electronic health record and electronic medical record systems, including troubleshooting common technical issues, is required.
- Understanding of healthcare privacy regulations is required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Applicants must provide a USB headset with noise cancellation, a working webcam, a main and backup computer with at least a 1.8 GHz processor and 4 GB RAM, a main wired internet connection of at least 25 Mbps, and backup internet of at least 10 Mbps.
- Applicants must be located in Mexico and Latin America.
- Document new patient and referral intake.
- Manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling for patients and healthcare providers.
- Enter patient information, medical records (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS), and billing dates into electronic medical record and electronic health record systems.
- Assist with processing insurance claims, verifying patient insurance information, and handling billing inquiries, concerns, and documentation.
- Respond to incoming patient inquiries by providing information and directing patients to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Assist with analyzing healthcare data, preparing reports, and maintaining records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Coordinate the sending of medical records to departments, healthcare providers, and professionals as directed by the managing physician.
- Complete ad hoc tasks.
- Familiarity with current technologies, including desktop sharing and cloud services.
