About the company

Sweet Cow makes small-batch ice cream and sells it through neighborhood scoop shops in Boulder, Denver, Longmont, Louisville and Aurora along Colorado's Front Range. Flavors draw on ingredients from local businesses such as Hammond's Candies, Ozo Coffee and Savory Spice Shop, alongside year-round staples like Super Delicious Vanilla and Cookies and Cream. Shops sell cones, milkshakes, sundaes, cakes and pints, and the company also sells gift cards and merchandise online. Its MooMobile ice cream trucks can be hired for weddings, company picnics and birthday parties, with each booking charged at least an event minimum. Sweet Cow opened its first shop in Louisville, Colorado, in 2010.

  • Voters favor Sweet Cow: it won the Denver Gazette's 2026 ice cream shop bracket, as reported in April 2026.
  • Production pays $20 hourly: Sweet Cow's Aurora posting adds 50% employer-paid health for hourly staff averaging over 30 hours weekly.
  • Shop leaders get salaried terms: Sweet Cow's Boulder general manager posting pays $66,500 with three weeks' vacation rising with tenure.

What critics are saying

  • Scoopers need flexibility: Sweet Cow's North Boulder posting requires availability for four weekday day shifts or several closes and weekends.
  • Advertised pay includes tips: Sweet Cow's Platt Park truck lead posting lists $16.27 hourly base plus $15 average hourly tips.
