Nestlé launches 'NestCrea', an employability platform for young people in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru.

Nestlé launches 'NestCrea', an employability platform for young people in Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru. Listen to this article 0:00/ 3:56 October 1, 2026 16:15 Mexico City. Nestlé announced the launch of NestCrea, a free regional digital platform designed to connect young people in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru with employability training tools, official certification programs and a catalog of job opportunities tailored to each country's productive sector, within the framework of the 11th edition of the Pacific Alliance Youth Meeting, held with Mexico as host country. The digital tool integrates practical resources aimed at facilitating the professional insertion of those entering the labor market for the first time. Among its main functions is a guided module for preparing a first résumé, an online course focused on preparing for a first job, and a series of training contents centered on the development of transversal skills. In this way, the platform seeks to link the learning process with direct operational steps for job searching. Technical training in the face of the regional employment gap. The launch of this initiative responds to a regional scenario marked by significant barriers to access to formal work. Figures from the International Labour Organization (ILO) indicate that the global youth unemployment rate stood at 12.4 percent during 2025, representing nearly 67 million people between 15 and 24 years old without employment. In the nations that make up the Pacific Alliance, this panorama is aggravated by structural factors such as labor informality, gender disparity and a marked disconnection between academic curricula and the real requirements of the business sector. "Today it is not enough to open a vacancy; we need to help young people build the capabilities that allow them to access, remain and grow in a labor market that changes at enormous speed. NestCrea was born to bring training and opportunities closer in a more continuous way, and to add the reach of companies, governments, academia and allies in the four countries," said Fausto Costa, Executive President of Nestlé Mexico. Added to these difficulties is the accelerated transformation of the skills required by the digital and industrial sectors. It is estimated that by 2030, approximately 40 percent of the skills demanded in current jobs will have changed substantially. Faced with this trend, international organizations underscore the relevance of schemes that link continuous training with direct job-placement mechanisms to cushion the impact of the technological transition on new generations. NestCrea works as a digital and permanent extension of Iniciativa por los Jóvenes, an institutional program that in its first decade reported having impacted 2.8 million people and generated more than 43,000 professional development opportunities in the four Spanish-speaking countries of the trade bloc. Unlike in-person or temporary calls, the new virtual environment will remain open throughout the year to allow users to consult vacancies and complete training modules at their own pace. "In the four countries we share a challenge: that more young people can turn what they learn into real job opportunities. With NestCrea we want to facilitate that journey through quality content, free access and a closer connection with the opportunities available in each market," said Enrique Rueda, Head of Human Resources for the Americas Zone at Nestlé.

More brands break the US$1 million mark as Lazada celebrates partner growth.

More brands break the US$1 million mark as Lazada celebrates partner growth. October 1, 2026 By PR Newswire * Abbott, EstéeLauder Companies and Samsung received Brand of the Year honours at the annual LazMall Brand Gala 2026. * Stronger 9.9 results and new shopper research highlight the opportunity for brands to grow by meeting higher expectations of value, authenticity and service. SINGAPORE, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Lazada, a leading eCommerce platform in Southeast Asia, celebrated the achievements of its 170,000-strong brand ecosystem at the annual LazMall Brand Gala 2026, as more brands reached major sales milestones on the platform. LazMall Brand Gala 2026 The Gala brought brand leaders and partners together to recognise that progress and shape the next stage of growth around what shoppers increasingly value; authentic products, better shopping experiences and confidence in every purchase. Abbott, Estée Lauder Companies and Samsung received LazMall Brand of the Year honours, leading the winners across 10 award categories. The annual gathering celebrated the people, ideas, ambition and partnerships behind the brand moments that continue to move businesses forward. More brands are turning momentum into growth The Gala followed a strong 9.9 Mega Brands Sale, where more brands reached significant commercial milestones on Lazada. Compared with 6.6 2026, the number of brands generating US$1 million or more in GMV increased by 8%, while more brands also crossed the US$100,000 and US$500,000 marks. Shoppers were also making bigger purchases through trusted brand channels. Orders worth US$100 or more contributed almost 60% of total campaign GMV, while LazMall accounted for 49% of all orders across the region. That momentum was reflected in this year's Gala winners, from brands creating stronger launches and sharper marketing to those building greater relevance within their categories. Three big awards of the nights: * Abbott, Estée Lauder Companies and Samsung won LazMall Brand of the Year, recognising their leadership in building trusted brands through innovation and elevated shopping experiences on Lazada. * Dyson, Huawei and Nestlé received the LazMall Best Brand Partnership Award, recognising brands that demonstrated exemplary always-on operations, strong platform collaboration and a commitment to delivering high-quality products, services and shopper experiences. * imoo, LiberNovo, Ralph Lauren, SHOKZ, TUMI and WILSON won LazMall Rising Star, recognising brands that delivered exceptional growth and momentum in their respective categories. WILSON, for example, recorded more than 90% year-on-year GMV growth from January to August 2026, with orders increasing by more than 80%. Other award winners included: * LazMall Momentum Award: adidas, L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty and SharkNinja * LazMall Best Use of Marketing Solutions: BLUETTI, LG, Nike, TCL and Xiaomi * LazMall Best New Launch: ASICS, P&G and Roborock * LazMall Trend Impact: DJI, L'Oréal Luxe Division and lululemon * LazMall Category Innovation Award: CHOW TAI FOOK, COTY and LEGO * Lazada Partner E-Commerce Excellence: Intrepid, LEAP Commerce and Synagie * Lazada Media Partner Excellence: Intrepid and Publicis Media Together, the winners reflect a broader story of growth on Lazada, where stronger marketing, better launches, category innovation and deeper shopper engagement are helping brands build momentum that extends beyond a single campaign. Winning Shopper's Choice The achievements celebrated at the Brand Gala come as shoppers become more considered about where, what and how they buy. Lazada's 2026 ECommerce Savvy Shopper Report, conducted by Cube across 6,000 shoppers in Southeast Asia, found that around one in four are Savvy Shoppers, consumers who compare more carefully, look for stronger safeguards and expect more from brands before making a purchase. That extra consideration can translate into greater value. Savvy Shoppers spend 31% more each month than General Shoppers, representing an estimated US$11.5 billion gap in annual marketplace spending across the six markets. Nearly half, 47%, are also willing to pay more for stronger purchase protection. For brands, earning that choice increasingly means showing up with the right combination of trust, content and discovery. At 9.9, affiliates contributed almost 30% of regional GMV, while AI-guided interactions through LazzieChat generated nearly US$2.2 million in GMV, up 38% from 6.6. It is this ability to keep evolving with shoppers that sits behind many of the achievements celebrated at this year's Gala. Building the next chapter together As shoppers become more deliberate about what they buy and which brands they trust, brands need more than visibility to win their choice. At the Gala, Iris Wei, President of Lazada Group, mapped out Lazada's next chapter of growth, centered on a brand-led, quality-focused approach and deeper investment in the capabilities that can help brands grow across Southeast Asia. That means strengthening the entire journey around the brand. Lazada is continuing to invest in AI, payments, membership and logistics, while expanding its advanced integrated marketing solutions across creators, affiliates, off-platform partnerships, on-platform visibility, discovery and performance. Together, these capabilities give brands more ways to build awareness, convert demand and strengthen customer relationships over time. "As shoppers expect more from eCommerce, brands have an opportunity to build deeper trust and greater value," said Iris. "Building a successful brand takes time, and Lazada is here for that long journey. We will keep investing in the capabilities that help brands grow, because we believe the strongest growth is built together." That commitment captures what the Brand Gala ultimately celebrates. The evening recognized the progress brands and partners have already made, but it also marked the beginning of what comes next. From established global names to rising brands, Lazada wants to build that next chapter alongside its partners, combining technology, marketing, infrastructure and shared investment to create stronger businesses and bigger brand moments across Southeast Asia. About Lazada Group Lazada Group is Southeast Asia's pioneer eCommerce platform, advancing commerce through technology across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Lazada connects shoppers to a trusted ecosystem of more than 170,000 global and local brands, sellers and partners, offering a diverse product assortment and engaging shopping experiences. Its technology, payments and homegrown logistics capabilities help make online shopping and selling more seamless, secure and accessible, supporting businesses of all sizes to grow in the region's digital economy. Nestle tops list of most valuable brands.

Nestle tops list of most valuable brands. Sep 28, 2026 LONDON - Leading brands are seeking to stand out with health-focused innovations and by cultivating consumer trust, according to Brand Finance, a brand valuation consultancy. The findings come from its annual Food and Drink report, which ranks international food, non-alcoholic beverage and dairy brands by value. The report's results ranked Nestle as the world's most valuable food brand, a position the brand has held for over a decade, according to the consultancy group. The brand's value increased 23% from last year, worth $24.58 billion. "Growth does not come from one lever alone," said Philipp Navratil, chief executive officer of Nestle, in a conference call earlier this year. "It comes from better products, stronger brands, the right value proposition, increased visibility in store and online and clear communications with consumers." PepsiCo, Inc.-owned Lay's trails Nestle as the world's second most valuable food brand. The brand's value increased by approximately 18%, to $15.10 billion, up from $12.72 billion. Lay's honed its focus by promoting the brand's clean label formulation. The report ranked Yili, a China-based dairy company, as the world's third most valuable food brand and the world's most valuable dairy brand. The brand's value sits at $14.50 billion, up from $11.22 billion in 2025. Danone secured the fourth slot on the rankings list, holding a value of $8.24 billion. Although the brand's value decreased from 2025, down from $8.27 billion, Danone has climbed up from its 2025 ranking as the fifth strongest brand in the world. In the United States, the brand expanded its innovation focus on its functional brands, such as its Silk Protein. Pushed down by Danone, the report listed Tyson as the fifth food brand with the highest value. At a value of $7.5 billion, the brand faced a significant drop from $9.9 billion in 2025, driven by rising cattle costs and supply shortages, according to the consultancy group. Kellogg's, the Ferrero Group-owned cereal brand, maintained its position as the sixth most valuable food brand in the world. The brand holds a value of $6.86 billion, an increase from $6.03 billion in 2025. In 2026, Kellogg announced it would remove artificial colors from its cereal by the end of the year and announced its intention to shift the perception of breakfast cereals as health-focused options. "More and more consumers are looking for foods made with simple, recognizable ingredients, and we are proud to meet those expectations, even sooner than planned," said Doug VanDeVelde, chief growth officer at WK Kellogg in August. PepsiCo's Doritos brand maintained its position from the previous year's ranking. The brand ranked seventh with a value of $6.62 billion, an increase from $5.39 billion in 2025. The increase in value coincides with the brand's commitment to formulating high-protein foods, including Doritos Protein and Doritos-flavored beef jerky. Mengniu, a dairy brand based in in China, generated the largest jump in the brand ranking list, leveling up three spots to the eighth most valuable brand. The brand garnered a value of $5.97 billion, up from $4.74 billion in 2025. Lindt, a chocolate brand, ranked ninth on the rankings list, up from tenth in 2025. The brand was valued at $5.46 billion, an increase from $4.92 billion. The report's top 10 most valuable list concluded with The Barilla Group's Barilla brand. Although the brand increased in value from the previous year, the brand dropped down from the ninth slot. The brand's value increased to $5.38 billion from $4.99 billion. "The global food and beverage sector is changing rapidly," said Herny Farr, global sector head of food and drink, Brand Finance. "After two years in which price increases led to revenue growth without meaningful increase in profitability, brands now need to show where long-term value will come from. "Those pulling ahead are using broad, flexible portfolios to capture growth and defend market share across categories against upstart challenger brands, rather than relying only on historically strong positions. Diversification will become even more important as trends such as GLP-1 weight-loss drugs begin to reshape consumer demand. Brands that build flexibility into their portfolios now will be better placed as these shifts accelerate." Get better grain-based foods industry search results.
