Requirements
  • High school diploma required
  • Certification with accredited training course through the State of Colorado for Certified Nurse Assistant
  • Previous work experience is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of relevant nursing care
  • Friendly and professional bedside manner
  • Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration
  • Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations
  • Required to submit to a TB test
  • Certified Nurse Assistant license is required
  • CPR certification is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Promotes the mission, vision and values of SPRHC
  • Provides support of daily living activities by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, transferring, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals; dressing; oral care; toileting; and general hygiene needs
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; recording intake and output information
  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Ensures residents/patients are ready, clean and well-groomed and on time for special tasks, such as visits, physician appointments, etc.
  • Ensures that any resident/patient change of condition is reported promptly to the licensed nursing professional
  • Assists in admitting and discharging patients/resident, including inventory of all possessions, etc.
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures and regulations
  • Completes daily and purposeful rounding that ensures patient/resident environment is clean and free of hazards. Assists with cleaning and organizing patient’s/resident’s room and property to ensure all patient/resident needs are being met
  • Protects SPRHC’s value by keeping patient information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure
  • Perform other functions as required to fulfill the expectations of the CNA
Desired Qualifications
  • CPR certification is preferred
