Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services to help us serve millions of users daily
• Work closely with the product team to launch new features
• Architect and deploy cloud infrastructure on GCP using Docker and Terraform
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to design and implement RESTful APIs and shared API client libraries
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and security of backend systems

Requirements

• You consider yourself a Pythonista and stay at the forefront of Python tooling such as uv, ruff, mypy, etc.
• You have equivalent project or work experience in scaffolding backend services in Python
• You are knowledgeable in PostgreSQL systems and are familiar with tooling in the Postgres ecosystem, such as PGBouncer or PGVector
• You are familiar with Public Cloud services, specifically GCP
• You understand the OpenAPI specification well and can implement it effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical teams
• You have equivalent project or work experience in Generative AI projects and have a general understanding of agentic systems and frameworks

Desirable

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Contributions to open-source projects (we publish and maintain our own libraries)
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and integration
• You have experience with Node.js and Typescript
