Requirements
  • A Master’s degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in historic archaeology and qualification under the Secretary of the Interior’s archaeology standards.
  • Expertise in historical archaeology and site documentation.
  • Proficiency in archival research and historical analysis.
  • Technical writing and reporting skills.
  • Ability to assess the significance of historic artifacts and sites.
  • Strong understanding of historic preservation regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business tools, including Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and document historic cultural resources, including structures, artifacts, and features from more recent periods.
  • Conduct extensive research and analysis to accurately depict historical resources in field guides.
  • Ensure field-guide work complies with relevant cultural resource management regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Prehistoric Archaeologist and other specialists to develop a comprehensive understanding of cultural resources across different time periods.
  • Produce thorough, accurate, and appropriately documented work products that comply with established criteria.
  • Perform duties competently and professionally while meeting milestones and delivery schedules.
