Cybersecurity & Compliance Engineer
About the job
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls to protect systems, networks, and data.
- Monitor security tools, including security information and event management, endpoint detection and response, and vulnerability scanners, and respond to alerts and incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and remediation planning.
- Manage endpoint and network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and access controls.
- Lead incident response efforts and support post-incident analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CMMC, or similar frameworks.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Support internal and external audits, including evidence collection and remediation tracking.
- Perform third-party risk assessments and vendor security reviews.
- Maintain the risk register and track mitigation activities.
- Promote a culture of security through awareness training and best practices.
- Educate employees on cybersecurity risks, phishing prevention, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with IT, engineering, and operations teams to embed security into systems and processes.
- Stay current on emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvements to the organization’s security posture.
