Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • 10-15 years of relevant trade experience is required.
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial chillers and complex mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems is required.
  • Strong understanding of centrifugal, screw, or reciprocating chillers, central plant equipment, and controls is required.
  • Experience using Building Management Systems and PC-based applications to diagnose and support equipment is required.
  • Working knowledge of retrofitting advanced systems is required.
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial chillers, central plant equipment, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, and variable frequency drives.
  • Service centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating chillers from manufacturers such as York, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, and Smardt.
  • Diagnose equipment issues, communicate findings with customers, and recommend practical repair solutions that improve system performance.
  • Work with energy management system controls, BACnet integrations, and large-tonnage chilled water systems to support reliable facility operation.
  • Maintain accurate service records, use proper diagnostic tools, and perform quality repairs that minimize repeat service calls.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and maintain complex mechanical systems for commercial and industrial customers.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians.

Harris expands into Colorado through multiple strategic acquisitions. June 2, 2026 Harris has expanded its national footprint into Colorado through the acquisition of three companies serving the region's mechanical systems, controls and building automation markets. The move establishes a strong operating base for Harris in Colorado and significantly broadens the company's presence across the Mountain West. The expansion began with the acquisition of Colorado-based temperature controls company D.R. Associates (DRA), effective May 4. Founded in Denver more than 20 years ago, DRA has built a strong reputation for delivering dependable temperature control solutions tailored to the needs of Colorado businesses. The company serves customers across industries including healthcare, manufacturing and commercial facilities. Effective June 1, Harris also acquired Climate Engineering (CEI) and Centennial Controls (CCI). CEI and CCI bring complementary expertise in mechanical systems, HVAC solutions and building automation throughout Colorado. Together, the companies have supported a wide range of commercial and industrial projects across the region, helping customers improve building performance, visibility and operational efficiency through advanced mechanical and controls solutions. Their strong technical capabilities, customer-focused approach and deep local relationships further strengthen Harris' ability to serve customers across Colorado. Together, the acquisitions bring decades of local expertise, long-standing customer relationships and specialized technical capabilities into the Harris organization.
