Requirements
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with word processing and Microsoft Excel.
  • Completion of a high school diploma; an alternative combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Willingness to understand and support The Salvation Army’s mission and purpose.
  • Ability to work in compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and organizational health and safety policies.
  • Ability to engage marginalized people positively and non-judgmentally while maintaining professional boundaries with vulnerable populations.
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication, listening, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, negotiating, and relationship-management skills.
  • Patience and ability to de-escalate situations, adapt to change, manage interruptions, maintain focus, and work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to complete applicable screening and background checks successfully, including the Salvation Army Abuse Registry and a Criminal Police Investigation Check.
  • Willingness to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and follow organizational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all aspects of the 2026 Chilliwack Christmas kettle fundraising campaign.
  • Promote the campaign through community presence, social media, and phone calls.
  • Act as a liaison with management and leadership at kettle locations and provide support as needed.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and support kettle workers and volunteers.
  • Maintain all kettles and supplies at every location.
  • Work with volunteers, clubs, churches, and businesses to fill volunteer positions.
  • Provide post-campaign support to ensure transition to future campaigns.
  • Thank donors, volunteers, workers, and partners and invite them to appreciation events.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
  • Monitor the work environment continuously and remain attentive to workplace safety.
