Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Monitor link status, traffic, and critical network parameters; configure links on network operations center systems for alerting and threshold monitoring.
  • Consolidate trend reports on a regular basis and monitor data networks including data center LAN/WAN performance.
  • Perform equipment configuration, software and hardware changes, and device management across network devices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and liaise with telecommunications providers for outage resolution and problem resolution.
  • Maintain inventory management and track port-level details including CPU, memory utilization, free memory, buffers, and failures.
  • Provide support for customer migrations or upgrades of network infrastructure and participate in WAN circuit analysis and recommendations for changes to circuits (increase/decrease).
  • Coordinate lease line procurement and commissioning with third-party vendors; monitor backup network to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor critical ports and faults; implement scalable SNMP event collection, filtering, and correlation; identify failures and affected users/devices; monitor Internet access service.
  • Maintain port, module, device, and VLAN properties; perform IP address design and management; implement and review spanning tree for redundancy; review routing policies; study traffic patterns; proactive fault detection and management.
  • Prioritize network events by business impact; review and fine-tune protocols; perform proactive fault detection and response time optimization.
  • Logistics for spares movement; study backup strategy and data center network infrastructure; perform LAN/WAN performance management and component performance rating.
  • Provide operational guidance including change control processes, trouble ticketing with updates, ISO standard operating procedures creation, and problem prioritization.
  • Archive and restore configurations; maintain configuration backups; generate historical performance reports; enable OEM support and escalate as needed; establish new policies and processes with customer.
