Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or Engineering, or a bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • At least five years of progressive experience with clinical information applications in healthcare, or a bachelor's degree in Nursing, is required.
  • At least three years of demonstrated information management or information technology experience is required.
  • At least three years of supervisory or managerial experience, including maintaining policies and database analysis, is required.
  • At least two years of project team leadership experience, with emphasis on task management, user relations, and written and oral communications, is required.
  • A strong understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act concepts and requirements as they relate to medical systems is required.
  • Experience in team leadership and direct supervision is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the evaluation, implementation, analysis, and coordination of information technology systems employed by University Hospital.
  • Identify opportunities for operating efficiency, cost containment and reduction, improved outcomes, communications, patient care, patient safety, and fiscal management supported through automated systems.
  • Partner with senior leadership to ensure that all technology-related policies and guidelines are current.
  • Lead employees to meet the organization’s expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  • Maintain transparent communication and appropriately communicate organizational information through the department.
  • Understand and adhere to University Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in its Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hospital and health systems operations is a plus.
