Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as an anesthesia technician.
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) Certification.
Responsibilities
  • Provide approved assistance to anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
  • Assist anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists with placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
  • Maintain the equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost-effective anesthesia care on a daily and case-by-case basis.
  • Apply infection-control and safety principles, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing, and disposal of equipment or supplies used in regular and contaminated cases.
  • Set up sterile equipment, including intravenous, central venous, arterial, and pulmonary artery catheters, using sterile technique.
  • Set up, operate, and disassemble cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned.
  • Perform standard procedural checks on equipment and report malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
  • Ensure the sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including transesophageal echocardiography equipment, fiber-optic scopes, and laryngeal mask airways.
  • Ensure workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during, and after each shift.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • ASATT Certification.
