Responsibilities
  • Perform daily servicing of autonomous vehicles, including cleaning, charging, and sensor calibration support in accordance with company standards
  • Drive autonomous vehicles in self-drive mode as required for calibration and deployment procedures
  • Research and troubleshoot “no hail” vehicle states using diagnostic tools; perform remote resets or escalate to fleet response support when needed
  • Complete safety and operational checklists, including pre-deployment software updates
  • Deploy and stage vehicles into Rider-Only Commercial Service as directed
  • Move and position vehicles within the depot and between charging or maintenance areas
  • Report charging equipment issues or performance concerns to technical staff
  • Handle, transport, and secure equipment such as keys, laptops, cleaning tools, and related assets in compliance with security standards
  • Maintain organized work areas and ensure depot cleanliness
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment

Avis Budget rockets to 4-year high on short squeeze and Middle East travel bets

Avis Budget Group surged to a nearly four-year high on Tuesday, reaching $256.99 in intraday trading before closing up 20 per cent at $255.15. The rally was driven by increased short interest and investor bets that rental car companies would benefit from travel disruptions caused by Middle East tensions. The heavily shorted company, with at least 20 per cent of its float sold short, reported a narrowed net loss of $889 million for 2025, down 51 per cent from $1.82 billion the previous year. Revenues declined 1.6 per cent to $11.6 billion from $11.79 billion year-on-year. In the fourth quarter, Avis Budget's attributable net loss fell 61.8 per cent to $747 million, whilst revenues dipped 1.7 per cent to $2.66 billion.
