  • Two to three years of acute care nursing experience.

  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, with a plan to complete a Master of Science in Nursing within two years of appointment.
  • Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Ability to respond to occasional crisis situations.
  • Ability to occasionally reposition and turn patients.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the School of Nursing curriculum in assigned teaching areas.
  • Facilitate achievement of program outcomes and student learning outcomes consistent with the School of Nursing philosophy and accreditation standards.
  • Provide input for curriculum changes based on test analysis, course evaluations, observational experience feedback, end-of-program surveys, graduate surveys, standardized testing, and evidence-based practice.
  • Provide input for course team meetings for continuous quality improvement and implement identified curriculum changes.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing theory content correlated with course objectives.
  • Plan theory content and assist in preparing course outlines and class schedules.
  • Prepare theoretical content reflecting current nursing practice and literature and based on course objectives.
  • Submit course materials to the course coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Preview audiovisuals and computer programs before lectures.
  • Incorporate varied teaching strategies, including ATI and the flipped classroom, when planning theory content.
  • Present organized theory content using varied teaching methods and explain concepts clearly according to approved course criteria.
  • Prepare, administer, and evaluate theory content and course-specific theory assignments.
  • Calculate examination grades and theory averages and document student grades accurately and promptly.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate clinical experiences correlated with course objectives.
  • Investigate available clinical resources and assist in preparing clinical schedules.
  • Select appropriate student patient-care assignments.
  • Plan, prepare, and participate in laboratory and simulation learning experiences.
  • Prepare for clinical experiences using electronic medical records and evidence-based research.
  • Supervise assigned students to maximize their learning experience.
  • Attend team meetings and conduct pre-conferences and post-conferences.
  • Participate in laboratory learning experiences and remain accessible to meet student needs.
  • Evaluate students’ clinical performance using written clinical criteria.
  • Complete anecdotal records promptly.
  • Evaluate nursing care plans and concept maps according to written criteria.
  • Conduct midterm progress conferences and final evaluations.
  • Evaluate laboratory learning experiences using skill checklists or written criteria.
  • Provide students with their current theory averages.
  • Provide academic and non-academic counseling according to School policy.
  • Allocate adequate time to meet with students according to their schedules.
  • Attend and participate in School of Nursing and Beebe Healthcare committees and programs.
  • Attend Faculty Organization meetings and serve on Faculty Organization committees.
  • Serve on Beebe Healthcare committees as requested.
  • Attend the annual Faculty/Nursing Leadership meeting and Faculty Development programs.
