Responsibilities
  • Lead multidisciplinary architecture and engineering projects from pursuit and kickoff through design, permitting, construction administration, and closeout, with primary accountability for overall project performance.
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact for assigned projects, managing expectations, communications, decisions, commitments, and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, scopes of work, responsibility matrices, work plans, staffing plans, deliverable schedules, and milestone strategies aligned with contractual requirements and client objectives.
  • Own project financial performance, including fee and labor budgets, burn-rate monitoring, percent-complete evaluation, cost-to-complete, revenue projections, profitability, and budget compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain project forecasts and financial status reporting; identify budget or performance variances and develop corrective action plans with project and discipline leadership.
  • Manage prime contract requirements and subconsultant agreements, including scope, deliverables, schedule obligations, invoicing, and team responsibilities.
  • Lead project change management by identifying scope growth and out-of-scope requests, evaluating schedule and fee impacts, preparing amendments and change orders, and obtaining authorization before additional work proceeds.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, track critical milestones and dependencies, evaluate impacts to the baseline plan, and lead recovery planning when performance deviates from the approved schedule.
  • Coordinate architecture, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, interiors, building information modeling/virtual design and construction, and specialty consultant teams to establish responsibilities, interfaces, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Plan and facilitate internal, client, and design coordination meetings; establish agendas, document decisions and action items, and drive closure of open issues.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, including schedule, financial, contractual, staffing, technical coordination, and client-related risks; escalate significant issues when appropriate.
  • Lead project quality management planning and implementation, including quality assurance/quality control reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, deliverable readiness, and compliance with company quality standards and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate with discipline leads and Engineers/Architects of Record so technical decisions are made by appropriate licensed professionals while maintaining project integration and delivery accountability.
  • Manage subconsultant performance, including scope, fee, schedule, staffing, deliverable quality, invoicing, and resolution of performance issues.
  • Lead and manage construction-phase services as applicable, including requests for information and submittal response workflows, field observations, design clarifications, change coordination, closeout activities, and construction-administration budget and schedule performance.
  • Monitor and communicate project status to clients and company leadership, including schedule, budget, forecast, staffing, risks, decisions, change management, and key action items.
  • Support proposal development and contract negotiations by preparing project scopes, schedules, staffing plans, fee estimates, subconsultant strategies, assumptions, and risk considerations.

  • Plan project resources and forecast workload with discipline and office leadership to support commitments and efficient staff utilization across concurrent projects.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, promote accountability and collaboration, and establish expectations for communication, schedule, quality, and performance.
  • Visit project and construction sites as needed to understand field conditions, monitor progress, support constructability and coordination, and align design and construction activities.
  • Use project-management tools including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, Newforma, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud.
