  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience testing optical transceivers or similar photonic/optoelectronic components in a manufacturing or original equipment manufacturer environment is required.
  • Working knowledge of optical transceiver form factors, including SFP/SFP+/SFP28, QSFP/QSFP28/QSFP-DD, OSFP, and CFP2/CFP4, and Multi-Source Agreement specifications is required.
  • Familiarity with optical and electrical test parameters, including optical power, wavelength, extinction ratio, sensitivity, jitter, eye diagrams, and bit error rate, is required.
  • Experience operating optical power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, bit error rate testers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers is required.
  • Understanding of fiber optic handling and cleaning, and fiber connector types such as LC and MPO/MTP, is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, test procedures, and datasheets is required.
  • Basic data analysis skills, including Excel, are required; scripting is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a lab and production environment, including standing for extended periods, is required.
  • Ability to handle small precision components and use fine tools is required.
  • Comfort working near Class 1 laser sources while following established safety protocols is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final testing of optical transceivers, including optical power, sensitivity, extinction ratio, wavelength, bit error rate, eye diagram, jitter, and transmitter/receiver parametric testing.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment such as bit error rate testers, optical power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, thermoelectric cooler controllers, and automated test stations.
  • Execute test plans and procedures according to original equipment manufacturer customer specifications and Multi-Source Agreement standards.
  • Log, analyze, and report test data; identify and flag out-of-specification units; and support failure analysis and root cause investigation.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot test fixtures, jigs, and automated test equipment.
  • Support burn-in, environmental temperature and humidity testing, and reliability testing such as high-temperature operating life and thermal cycling.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, test records, and traceability according to applicable quality system requirements, including ISO 9001, IATF, and TL 9000.

About the Company

Lumilens

Photonic interconnects for AI infrastructure

Lumilens designs and manufactures optical interconnect products to accelerate AI infrastructure. It provides high-density photonic interconnects—such as high-density pluggable, near-packaged, and co-packaged optics—built with in-house silicon photonics to scale GPU clusters in AI data centers. Its products include 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers for AI networking, and it is pursuing broader integration like Electrical-Optical Interposers through a strategic partnership with POET Technologies. The company differentiates itself through vertical integration, custom robotics-driven manufacturing, and AI-optimized production processes that aim to improve yield and supply chain stability. Lumilens targets hyperscalers and large AI providers, seeking to move interconnect bottlenecks from compute to scalable, efficient data-center networks. Its goal is to enable faster, denser GPU connectivity to support growing AI workloads and models.
